Migration:The missing link to MDG's? Gyaan Yatra Event
In 2000, world leaders came together and developed 8 goals to eradicate poverty by 2015. The goals included: access to education, access to clean water and equality for all. These are known as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
But they never mentioned migration and race.
This event looks at how migration and ultimately race plays a massive role in the development of societies across the world. The event looks at how across the world, in the US, UK and India, race, ethnicity and migration lead not only to opportunities but in many cases discrimination, violence and separation.
The question we ask is in today’s interconnected world, does migration and race need to be higher up the development agenda than it currently is?
